Schedule Information

Following is an overview of course schedules, run times, and time requirements.

Portland Campus Schedule

Core Courses

Portland-area core courses meet one night a week, usually on Thursdays, from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. for seven weeks. In addition to the four hours of class per week, you can expect to spend approximately eight hours on coursework.

Short Courses

Portland-area short courses run 18-20 hours and offer three scheduling options:

  1. Over two (not necessarily consecutive) Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  2. Four Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and one Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. totaling 3-9 hours of in-class instruction per week.
  3. Four Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and one Saturday session totaling 4-8 hours of in-class instruction per week.

In addition, you should expect to spend another four hours per week on coursework.

Virtual Learning and Teams

This online-only course runs for seven weeks and requires you to spend 12 to 15 hours per week on coursework.

Electronic Information and Research and Writing for Research

These two online-only courses each run for four weeks and require you to spend eight to 12 hours per week on coursework.

Capstone Course

The Capstone course (the last course in the program of study) is also offered online only and runs for 12 or 14 weeks. You are required to spend 18 to 20 hours per week completing Capstone work as you write your final research paper.

Online Schedule

Online courses are available 24/7. Core courses run for seven weeks and short courses run for four weeks. All courses begin on a Monday and end on a Friday.

Virtual Learning and Teams

This course runs Monday-Friday for seven weeks and requires you to spend 12 to 15 hours per week completing coursework.

Electronic Information and Research and Writing for Research

These two courses each run Monday-Friday for four weeks and require you to spend eight to 12 hours per week completing coursework.

Capstone Course

The Capstone course (the last course in the program of study) is also offered online only and runs for 14 weeks. Students should plan to spend 18 - 20 hours per week completing the final research paper.
