AIM Program E-mail

To streamline interaction with instructors, other students, and program administrators, you must have e-mail and Internet access.

AIM requires that its graduate students maintain a mailbox on our FirstClass system. Having everyone on the same system facilitates file transfers among students and instructors and limits misdirected messages. In addition, AIM uses FirstClass conferences (discussion groups) for every online course. Although messages to these conferences cannot be automatically fowarded, one can manually forward them. Please review the AIM Program E-mail Policy for guidelines on using your student e-mail account. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the AIM Program Coordinator at

To access your FirstClass mailbox and send e-mail within the system, you will need an Internet connection, and you must download and utilize the FirstClass client software.

Downloading FirstClass

After downloading the software, please review the setup information. You must enter the correct server address, etc., for your connection to work. You must also log in using your assigned user ID and password. Logging in as a guest is not permitted.

(This also helps you remember your password if you need to log into the FirstClass System from a different location.) It is against the AIM Program E-Mail Policy to use automatic login.

Forgotten Password

If you have forgotten your password, please contact the Sr. Curriculum Coordinator or the FirstClass Administrator at to set a new password.
