Lynn R. Kahle holds the Ehrman Giustina Professorship (endowed, tenured chair) in Marketing and has been the Department Chair in the Department of Marketing at the University of Oregon, USA. He has been on the faculty there in the Lundquist College of Business since 1983. As Department Chair, he was instrumental in founding the highly regarded James H. Warsaw Sports Marketing Center. He has chaired his University's Intercollegiate Athletic Committee and the UO Senate Budget Committee and has been active in civic affairs as well.

He has held positions in several places around the world. After earning his Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of Nebraska and teaching in the Psychology Department for one year thereafter, he accepted a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center in the Institute for Social Research (1978-80). He has served as the Distinguished Eichoff Lecturer at Technion University in Haifa, Israel (2000), the Sir Allan Sewell Distinguished Visiting Fellow in Marketing at Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia (1997), Distinguished Visiting Research Professor of Marketing Economics at the Norges Handelsh¿yskole (Norwegian School of Economics & Business Administration, Bergen, 1989), and an assistant professor on the faculty in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1980-1983). He spent the 2004-2005 academic year on sabbatical as a Visiting Professor of Marketing at Singapore Management University. Most recently he has held visiting professorships at Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and at Hanyang University (South Korea).

Dr. Kahle has been a productive scholar. He has published more than 150 books and research articles.
