Making Sense of Financial Data

Professor Wong received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 1999 and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to pursuing studies leading to a Ph.D., his work experience included two years as a wine chemist and approximately eight years in public accounting. Before joining the faculty at University of Nevada, Reno, Professor Wong was a member of the faculty at Oregon State University. His research interests focus on understanding how the actions of a firm ultimately map to its financial results. This research focus encompasses the development and use of non-financial and financial metrics to appropriately capture actions at every link of the value chain to understand how elements of the value chain relate to each other, and ultimately to firm value.
