Curriculum Components
AIM's multidisciplinary structure allows you to study information management from four key perspectives:
- Information management
- Information design
- Business management
- Applied research
The program begins with an Orientation Modulea series of courses that lays a foundation for success throughout the program. In these courses, you will explore online learning, electronic research, and research writing. Courses include:
- Virtual Learning and Teams
- Electronic Information and Research
- Writing for Research
After completing the orientation courses, you will take courses in four distinct areas that build a solid foundation in key disciplines of the field:
Information Management which focuses on information resources, communications, and management tools. Courses in this component include:
- Data Management and Communications
- Information Systems and Management
- Managing Information Assets
- Project Management
Business Management which focuses on aspects of management strategies and structures and marketing. Business management courses include:
- Creating Business Solutions
- Management of Organizations
- Marketing Management and Planning
Information Design which focuses on the identification, organization, and presentation of information. AIM's information design courses include:

- Information Design Trends
Applied Research which focuses on research writing, research methods, and the development of a final Capstone research study. Courses include:
