Abhijit Pandit is a passionate educator with over 15 years of experience in the business intelligence (BI) domain, including 10 years as a director/manager/leader. For the past four years, as an adjunct faculty, he has taught a variety of courses in the IT, management, and healthcare domains. He currently serves as the chief data officer of Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR.
Pandit has managed, designed, analyzed, and implemented several large BI projects. He has helped companies define development methodology for BI projects that dealt with standardizing the requirements gathering process, developing functional/technical specification templates, establishing BI-specific coding standards and ensuring that appropriate review mechanisms are in place. He has developed BI roadmaps and strategies, defined BI funding models, lead and mentored teams, developed reports, designed data models, run tests, managed implementation, handled data extraction and enhancements and quality assurance of BI design, and optimized BI performance.
Pandit has worked for Nike, OHSU, PacifiCorp, Kelloggs, Dr. Pepper Seven Up, Cadbury Schweppes (U.K.), and public sector clients, among them NASA and the state of Arkansas. He has worked in the U.S., U.K., Hong Kong, and India.
