Registration Policy

Preregistration is required for all AIM Program courses. A late fee may apply if you do not register by the stated registration deadlines listed in the Courses and Registration section.

You may register online or by calling 800-824-2714. Students registering online must have an account set up to use financial aid as the payment method. Before registering online for the first time, call 800-824-2714 to set up your account.

Tuition must be paid in full before the first class day/session.

To drop a course, contact the AIM Program Coordinator at aim@uoregon.edu. Tuition refunds are only available to those who officially drop a course by the specified refund deadlines.

Admitted Students

AIM Program students are guaranteed a seat in all courses needed to earn the degree. Registration for short courses is on a first-come, first-served basis. To take the short course titles that you want, please enroll as soon as the course opens for registration.

Non-admitted Students

Non-admitted students may register for the online course, Virtual Learning and Teams (VLT). After successfully completing VLT, non-admitted students may register for other online courses.

Non-admitted students (with a bachelor's degree) may take graduate-level AIM courses for credit or on an audit (non-credit) basis. If you think you might want to apply later for AIM admission, make sure you take the course for credit. Once you complete an audited course, you cannot change it to a credit registration. You will have to retake the course to have it count toward AIM Program requirements.

If you plan to apply for admission, you may take up to 12 credits prior to being formally admitted to the program. Credits taken prior to admission count toward the number needed for the degree as long as you earn a grade of B or better in the graded courses and a pass in the pass/no pass courses.

AIM Alumni

AIM graduates may take short courses on an audit basis for half the normal tuition, if space is available and they have already taken VLT or LVE (Learning in a Virtual Environment). Space available means that the course has available seats not filled by students paying full tuition. The reduced tuition rate applies only to certain short courses taken on a non-credit basis. Check the current list of upcoming courses for details.

Once a course opens for registration, call and register as quickly as possible. However, if a seat is needed for a student paying full tuition, know that you may be bumped from the class. Prior to bumping, a registration clerk will call and ask if you wish to maintain your spot in the class by paying full tuition.
